It is ages since I posted on here but I do so love to catch up on all your blogs. As soon as I get into the office of a morning I sit down with my coffee and catch up on the blog postings. I admire each and every-ones works, all of your individual styles and techniques.

Yesterday I went to my first 'Pink Ladies' day at Simply Create at Alford. Wow! So many talented ladies there. ReVamp with the fabulous demo for making lampshades and classes with Anne doing cushions and Kath for snowflakes plus all the other ladies who were creating their own projects. My thanks to Jacqui giving me the opportunity to be there.

I have a busy week ahead with no time for crafting until Saturday when I am at a workshop with Dawn and Fiona from SU. Another day to look forward to.

Just because ........

It was a brilliant day yesterday. Sun was shining and Emma (crafting friend) and I went out to Simply Create at Alford to see a demo with Judy . What a wonderful time we had. We watched, we played, we shopped!!!!! The company was so good and we had such a relaxing time. I now need to buy the Prism pens but 'the consignment is lost in the volcanic ash' !!!!! so had a play with my new stamps and my water pencils..... so practice, practice, practice!!!!

Friday evening I left my other half at the office finishing off an estimate and went home to make dinner and when he arrived home he came in the door hiding a bunch of flowers behind his back.

' What's this in aid of? ' ' Just because....' Bless him! Thing was that the thought ran through my mind that he would bring me home flowers that evening!!!! No reason why!

My take on a card I saw on a blog but never took note!!! Sorry. It was around the time I went with my daughters down to Glasgow to see Michael Buble and it somehow reminded me of him so I made it as a thank you card for the girls!!!

This stamp is one that my eldest daughter chose when we were out to Simply Create in Alford on the opening day. She said it reminded her of herself when she was little - I have to agree with her..........

My better half said not black for a birthday card but black is calling to me at the moment!

Stampin' Up Demo

It was the Tree Tops Hotel today for me - for a Stampin' Up demo by Dawn, Elaine and Kara. They put a lot of work in for the event and I so enjoyed seeing all their creations and techniques. Hope they have another one soon. First off we made a card with Elaine, then Kara shared some good techniques, third should have been a scrapbook page but I didn't have a photo for this so I made it into another card (still need to add a sentiment) and finally Dawn showed us how to make another card with a flower. All lovely projects

Here is a card I made last night using card and ribbon in the new colours from SU along with embellishments that Dawn had kindly given me earlier on.

It has taken me just under 2 hrs to photo and download these photos!!!! Better go get our evening meal on.

Graduation card

Here is my card for my niece who graduates in media studies on Friday and yes it is very basic.

Brother and my problem with TIME?

The weekend has passed and I had planned to spend some time with my inks, papers and computer but that was knocked on the head. I finally finished clearing out my brother's flat on Friday night so that just left me with some boxes to transport over to my sister in Ellon. On Saturday it was such a lovely day I took him along for the outing and after off-loading the boxes at Ellon we drove over by Oldmeldrum then stopped at Inverurie and had a short stroll along the main street then over to Westhill, Cults and home. Sunday 9am there was a phonecall - his PEJ tube had a hole in it so could I take him to hospital. We sat at the hospital for hours just to be sent home as the consultant only does the op he needs (replacing the whole tube) on a Thursday!!! I finally arrived home at 8pm to cook Sunday dinner.

Therefore I had no time to or even work out the 'how to' upload photos! Maybe tonight?

New Stampin' Up Colours

On arriving home last night there was an envelope lying on the doormat holding the new Stampin'Up colourways - card, paper and ribbon from Dawn. Why had I promised myself that I would crack on and catch up on a large pile of ironing last night? !!! (Husband just back from a 10day golfing trip to Hilton Head!!!!). I just laid the samples on my table, had a quick shuffle around before heading for bed and then again this morning before leaving for work!!!!

Basically

I sent off 2 cards yesterday (birthday and new baby) but didn't think to take a photo - maybe because they were very basic and made a few weeks ago - but I was pleased with them anyway. My crafting time is at a minimum at the moment as I have the task of clearing out my brothers flat but hopefully that will be completed this weekend - fingers crossed. Then I will set to and see if I can get some photos uploaded on my blog.

1st Birthday Bash and my 1st Post

For my 1st post I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Jacqui and her helpers at SIMPLY CREATE in Alford. It is a year since the shop opened and Jacqui held a birthday party/crop to celebrate. The shop is gorgeous and Jacqui and her staff are wonderful. Needless to say I wish her success for her 2nd year and I hope to be able to get along to more of the events that she lays on throughout this coming year.
